Diamondback Release 1.0 27.5 Mountain Bike - 2016. The Diamondback Release is a perfect bike for the trail or AM rider who wants to perfectly balance performance and value. With a performance-oriented frame and Level Link suspension, and value-oriented components, the Release 1.0 will let you push your limits on almost any terrain. The Diamondback Release is built around a durable, yet fast and light hydroformed alloy frame with Level Link suspension platform. Designed around the versatile 27.5 wheel standard, the Release provides 130mm of rear suspension travel courtesy of a Rock Shox Monarch R DebonAir shock, which helps make the ride more comfortable and takes the sting out of the trail. Up front, a Rock Shox Yari RC fork gives you a whopping 150mm of suspension travel--complete with remote lockout and compression damping to make sure you stay in control, no matter what kind of hits the trail dishes out. Level Link is Diamondback's patent-pending short-bar four-link suspension platform created for their next generation of trail bikes. Level-Link isolates horizontal pedaling forces and controls chain growth, increasing pedaling efficiency. Go and roll some single-track, gas it out of tight corners: Level Link is fully responsive. You'll experience excellent bump compliance as the system soaks up small and large hits. And when it comes to climbing, the rear wheel stays planted for the kind of bite-hard grip you need on long fire roads and punchy technical sections. In short, the Release 1.0 climbs like a cross-country machine without compromising its ability to attack the most aggressive lines. And that's a lot of performance in one trail bike. But a great bike is more than just a frame and fork. With that in mind, Diamondback assembled a smart and sensible mixed SRAM group--utilizing the best of GX, X7 and X5 for superb 10-speed shifting in nearly any circumstances, with a nice wide range of gears to get you up and over almost any obstacle in your way. Stopping is handled by SRAM DB1 hydraulic discs with 180mm front and rear rotors, giving you the most powerful braking power in any terrain or trail conditions. Rounding things out is a cockpit that comes courtesy of Diamondback, with a durable and dependable handlebar, seatpost and stem. The bike is capped off with a WTB Volt saddle, and it rolls on a set of Diamondback Blanchard 28R tubeless compatible wheels, wrapped up in Schwalbe Hans Dampf 27.5x2.35 tires--giving you excellent traction and grip, no matter what the trail throws at you.
